A self in public, on purpose

Digital identity used to mean a profile picture and a password. Now it is a choreography: a voice note with its own cadence, an avatar with a private history, a group chat where taste is made in real time. Young people are not simply posting a self; they are designing a medium through which a self can travel.

The more visible identity becomes, the more precious selective visibility feels. The most interesting creators are working with opacity as carefully as exposure—leaving room for context, intimacy, and a life that cannot be indexed.
